Krista Schaus won 1st overall and 1st in the middleweight (125 to 140 lbs) weight class this past Easter weekend at the Beverly International NKY Bodybuilding and Fitness Championships in Covington Ohio. She began training and preparing for her first every bodybuilding event in January 2008 after an 8-year career in powerlifting which brought her a National title, 5 Commonwealth medals and a Top 20 Canadian female ranking.
Krista's time spent under the bar and training with heavy compound lifts such as deadlifts and squats paid off as she came into the competition with a solidly muscular yet lean and natural physique.
She is very appreciative for all the support she received especially from Dr. Aras Kvedaras & Kvedaras Chiropractic in Hamilton, The Physique Coach and world level natural IFBB Bodybuilder Frances Mania, KHP Designs in Caledonia and all her family, friends and clients.
Krista plans on competing in Ontario in 2008 in hopes of qualifying for Natural Nationals. Her first qualifying contest will be April 26th in Stratford, Ontario.
The NKC hosted by Beverly International is the biggest single day amateur bodybuilding and fitness competition in the United States. This years event brought 267 competitors together from all across the US. Krista was the only international competitor and Beverly International was thrilled to have her participate to make the vent a truly international one.
