Acai - The Power Berry

My husband and I started having an Acai based breakfast smoothie every morning and noticed an improvement in the fine lines and wrinkles in our face within days!

If we can see a difference on the outside from this super fruit, just imagine the good things happening as a result , inside.

From Booster Juice Pamphlet…

Acai - The Brazilian Power Berry.

"Acai (pronounced AH-sci-EE) is a delicious power berry from the heart of the Amazon Rainforest in Brazil. Acai has been consumed by the people of the Amazon region for centuries do to its high antioxidant value, tested scientifically to have an ORAC (Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity) 10x greater than red grapes. Acai provides sustained energy and contains Omega 3 fatty acids similar to that found in fish."

From Dr. Nicholas Perricone in The Perricone Promise…

"Studies have shown that this little berry is one of the most nutritious and powerful foods in the world! Acai is the high-energy berry of a special Amazon palm tree. Harvested in the rain forests of Brazil, acai tastes like a vibrant blend of berries and chocolate. Hidden within its royal purple pigment is the magic that makes it nature’s perfect energy fruit.

Acai is packed full of antioxidants, amino acids and essential fatty acids. Although acai may not be available at your local supermarket, you can find it, often in juice form, in several health food and gourmet stores. A new product featuring the unsweetened pulp is now available, and I highly recommend that you choose this form of acai.

Acai pulp contains:

  • A remarkable concentration of antioxidants that help combat premature aging, with ten times more antioxidants than red grapes and thirty time the anthocyanins of red wine.
  • A synergy of monounsaturated (healthy) fats, dietary fibre, and phytosterols, to help promote cardiovascular system and digestive tract health.
  • An almost perfect essential amino acid complex in conjunction with valuable trace minerals, vital to muscle.

The fatty acid content resembles that of olive oil, and is rich in monounsaturated oleic acid. Oleic acid is important for a number of reasons. It helps omega-3 fish oils penetrate the cell membrane; together they make cell membranes more supple. When a cell membrane is kept supple, all hormone, neurotransmitter, and insulin receptors function more efficiently. This is particularly important because high insulin levels create an inflammatory…inflammation causes aging."
