Background

Carrie has been involved in fitness since 1988. Her interests include strength training, running, sprinting, bodybuilding, rock climbing and Taekwondo.

Carrie obtained her Personal Trainer Specialist certification from Can-Fit-Pro in the Spring of 2006. Passionate about fitness, she has spent the past couple years providing exercise advice and programs to friends and family and recently renovated her in-home studio this past summer in order to offer her knowledge, services and motivation full-time. Carrie holds a black stripe in WTF Taekwondo and has competed several times, taking home a gold and two silvers in sparring and a gold and silver in poomse (patterns). She is an avid runner as well as a sprinter. Fitness has been an integral part of her lifestyle for over 18 years and has a passion for helping others achieve their health and fitness goals. By December 2006 Carrie will have obtained her certification as a Pre & Post Natal Fitness Specialist and will be offering pre and post natal fitness training.

As a mother of three young children under 6 (including identical twin girls!) and a former artifact conservator and engineering technician she understands how hard it can be to achieve a balanced lifestyle and is eager to help her clients integrate proper exercise, in which she emphasizes functional strength training, aerobic and anaerobic energy system training, and nutrition, into their daily regime.

Training Philosophy & Mission

It is my belief that with hard work and determination, in conjunction with proper exercise and nutrition, that not only can an individual reach their health and fitness goals but can also achieve a balanced lifestyle.

I don’t believe that there are any “short cuts” or “quick fixes”. Permanent and healthy change takes time, devotion and determination. As such, it is my mission to provide an inviting environment where individuals can pursue their fitness and health goals without feeling intimidated or uncomfortable. Through innovative and individualized programs not only will I be able to assist you in making the transition to a healthier lifestyle much easier but also help you reach higher levels of fitness than could be achieved independently. Your individualized program will improve your muscular strength and endurance, cardiovascular fitness, and flexibility. If you choose, I can also help you to improve body composition through nutrition and weight management counseling.

I understand that people lead very busy and demanding lives and that making such a lifestyle change can be intimidating and even scary, and the fear of failure often leads to procrastination. However, life generally doesn’t get any easier the next day or even next week. I believe that your “tomorrow” starts today and it is my mission to guide & motivate you now to adopt a healthier lifestyle and to achieve a more functional and healthy body.

So let’s get started!
